  36. I hope this reflects a new attitude at Hayes.

  38. I've used Hayes modems for over 10 years. My first modem was a Hayes
  39. MicroModem for my Apple II and I have been pleased with Hayes quality
  40. since then. However, with the Optima 28.8  that I bought not quite a year
  41. ago because of its 230Kbps DTE speed, I have had nothing but frustration,
  42. wasted time and no help from Hayes. I have had no email replies from Hayes
  43. and useless and impatient "help" on the phone from Hayes Tech Support. I
  44. have spent so many frustrating hours trying to get my Optima 28.8 to work
  45. reliably at >14.4Kbps that I have given up trying. I've gotten a Penril
  46. modem (which I just plugged in and it works as advertised) and now I have
  47. to use the Hayes as a doorstop (I can't even use it as an Apple Remote
  48. Access modem at 14.4Kbps because it won't hold a connection for more than
  49. about 5 minutes whereas a Supra 288 FaxModem works fine.).
